The management of the journal is based on the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Halu Oleo University, Number 5527/UN.29.12/PI/2022. The e-ISSN number is 2502-664X based on SK LIPI no. 0005.2502664X/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2016.03-4 March 2016 (starting from issue Vol. 1, No. 1, February 2016) at https://ojs.uho.ac.id/index.php/JSEP. As an effort to increase journal capacity, starting with volume 8 number 1, February 2023 will be published at https://jsep.uho.ac.id/index.php.

Based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology Number 230/E/KPT/2022, December 30, 2022 concerning Ranking of Accreditation of Scientific Journals period IV of 2022, Journal of Social Economics and Fisheries obtained accreditation for the Sinta-6 category New Accreditation Rank 6 starting Volume 5 Number 3 of 2020 to Volume 10 Number 2 of 2025.
The Journal of Fisheries Social Economics concerns agribusiness systems, cost-benefit analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis, fishery product marketing, farm management, financial management, supply chains, business and entrepreneurship. Resource and environmental economics regarding resources and environmental goods valuation prices, and indicators of environmental quality. Social aspects of coastal fishing communities, agricultural sociology, agricultural counseling, and development communication, policies on the management and utilization of fisheries resources and their environment. These original thoughts can be in the form of research results, theoretical studies, methodological studies, seminar reviews, book reviews, and reviews of fisheries development issues. JSEP only accepts manuscripts that have never been published and are not in the process of being published in other publication media, and its presence is expected to build a reputation for the work produced as a first step towards a reputable international journal. The writing procedure follows the requirements as described in the Author Guidelines. JSEP is published periodically every February, May, August and November. JSEP accepts articles in Indonesian and English.
